At his early stage of professional football in the English premier league, he won the player of the year award with Manchester United in the 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 season in the English premier league.

He also won the player of the year award with in the Spanish premier division with Real Madrid in 2013/2014 season.

He then won it with Juventus in the Italian seria A in the 2018/2019 and 2019/202 season at his stay in the Italian seria A with Juventus.
