African coaches to coach all qualified African teams in Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022


Over the past years, most African countries have had their coaches being expatriates but that seems to be a thing of the past as this year Africa will have a full presentation of local coaches for all the teams at the impending Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The recent appointment of Walid Regragui from Morocco as the head coach for the Moroccan National team completes the set of African coaches for all qualified African teams.

Africa as a member of the world governing body, FIFA will have countries representing and the African countries that have qualified for the 2022 edition of the World Cup are Morocco, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Ghana.

The 5 African countries will be coached by

Senegal-Aliou Cisse

Cameroon-Rigobert Song

Morocco- Walid Regragui

In reaction to the news, the Confederation of African Football, CAF said it is a ‘massive step for the growth of African coaches who have now borne the courage to take over at the highest level’.

The entire African continent is full of anxiety to see what the new era will bring for African football.
