Began early football with Real Madrid, Borja Mayoral on the latest reports has left the club in the ongoing transfer window, joining league rivals Getafe on a deal worth €10m and a contract that runs to the summer of 2027.
This follows unguaranteed first-team football for the upcoming season and beyond under Carlo Ancelotti who prefers Karim Benzema in all competitions and his absence deploys wingers.
Spend half of last season at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, the 25-year-old central forward reached a goal mark of six in 18 games of which 11 were starters, a good sign to thrive when more minutes are granted and an ideal player to bring competition to the attacking phase of the team.
Ending his spells with his childhood club, Mayoral made 31 appearances in all competitions for the “Los Blancos” scoring 7 and assisting once.
Join league rivals Getafe on a permanent deal, Mayoral previously spent a €3m season long-loan at Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg in 2016, then two seasons loan spell at Levante, a €2m loan spell at AS Roma before a short stint at his current club before a permanent move.
Away from Real Madrid, Uruguayan international Matias Vecino has reportedly been signed by Lazio after leaving Inter Milan in the first week of the transfer window.
The 30-year-old versatile midfielder joins as a free agent on a long-term contract.
